Susan Parker PT, DPT

Susan graduated from Ithaca College and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from DesMoines University. She has over 35 years of experience in the field of physical therapy with extensive training in pelvic health and orthopedics.

 

Susan co-owned Greater Rochester Physical Therapy for 25 years and was the Director of the Women’s Health Program. She has focused her practice on the treatment of women’s health musculoskeletal diagnoses including pregnancy/postpartum musculoskeletal pain, pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction and osteoporosis. She has also treated men with incontinence, post surgical issues and pelvic floor dysfunction. Susan also has extensive experience in the treatment of outpatient orthopedic conditions including neck, back, pelvic, hip, knee and shoulder injuries.

 

Susan has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. She has completed numerous continuing education courses in pelvic health and orthopedics. She also completed the Community Spine Pathways Training to become a Primary Spine Provider in Rochester. She has been an active member of The International Pelvic Pain Society for over 20 years, including serving on the Board of Directors and currently serving on the Advisory Board. In addition, she is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Women’s Health, The National Vulvodynia Association, International Urogynecologic Association and International Continence Association.

 

Susan’s goal is to return you to your optimal level of function at home, work and play. Susan is dedicated to providing evidence based treatment and achieving optimal patient outcomes. Her programs emphasize education, instruction in home exercise programs, and strategies to assist you to manage your symptoms independently. She is a lifelong learner who is passionate about sharing the knowledge she gains from continuous learning opportunities with her patients. Susan enjoys living an active lifestyle including yoga, hiking, bicycling and traveling. During her free time she loves spending time with her husband David and grown children Zac (and his wife Kelly), Kelsey and Luke.
